Studies on Pollination Insect Species and Their Visiting Behavior of Primula lithophila of Endemic Plants in Guizhou
Primula lithophila is endemic in Guizhou, only distributed in Guizhou Xishui National Nature Resrve, special habitat,It's a kind of rare and endangered ornamental plant. The flower visiting insect were captured in April and May for two consecutive years in native habitats of Primula lithophila, then they were stored and identificated in the laboratory.By using the method of taking video and photographs,we recorded the flower visiting insects and their visiting behavior of Primula lithophila. The results showed that there were 12 families and 22 species flower visiting insects of Primula lithophila,10 species of them belong to Diptera,9 species of them belong to Hymenoptera and 3 species of them belong to Lepidoptera. There were 9 families and 13 species pollination insects,6 species of them belong to Hymenoptera,4 species of them belong to Diptera, and 3 species of them belong to lepidoptera.Studies on pollinating insects of Primula lithophila would improve the seed setting rate and reproductive rate for the introduction, relocation propagation and Introduction of the pollinators. It would also provide different ways from conventional breeding for the production and breeding of Primula lithophila. Then provide reference to expand the amount of the resources.
