Research Progress on Factors Affecting the Propagation of Tea Plant(Camellia sinensis)Cuttings
Cuttage is a widely used method of asexual propagation of tea plants, and the key is the formation of adventitious roots, which is a complex process affected by many factors such as internal and external factors and their interrelationships.Exploring the factors affecting its rooting is of great significance for understanding the formation of adventitious roots and regulating the cutting environment. In this article, the internal and external factors affecting the cutting propagation of tea plant were summarized.Particularly, the roles of the internal factors including cultivar difference, selection of materials, cutting specifications, internal nutrients, hormone levels, enzyme activities,as well as the external factors including substrate, season, temperature, humidity, light, plant growth regulators,in increasing the survival rate of cutting were overviewed. Moreover, the application prospect and shortcomings were discussed. This review will provide theoretical guidance for improving the breeding efficiency of tea varieties.
