Variation of Growth Traits and Preliminary Selection of Cunninghamia lanceolata Clones
In order to select the resources of Chinese fir clones with excellent growth characters, the growth characters of different stand ages were investigated and analyzed by taking the 21-year-old test stand of Chi-nese fir clones in Jindong Forest Farm of Yongzhou City as the research object. The results showed that the variation coefficients of tree height,DBH and volume were 8.45%~13.95%,9.28%~14.26%and 22.83%~32.62%among the clones at 5~21 years of age, respectively. There were significant differences in DBH,tree height and volume among clones of different stand ages. The results of correlation analysis showed that the correla-tion coefficients of growth traits of clones of different stand ages reached a significant level, and the correla-tion coefficients between DBH and volume were greater than that between tree height and volume.Four clones were selected using DBH as the selection index, and the selection rate was 6.15%.Compared with the control,DBH and tree height increased by 24.18%and 20.19%,respectively.Compared with the total stand,DBH and tree height increased by 23.94%and 20.86%,respectively.The results showed that the 21-year-old clones were reliable, and the excellent clones could be popularized as excellent clones for afforestation, which could ob-tain great economic benefits.
