Identification and Phylogenetic Analysis of MADS-box Gene Family in Cucumis melo L.
China,in which lies the world's biggest planting area, becoming the main producer of muskmelon and the yield ranks first.Based on genome-wide analysis,we identified the members of MADS-box gene family in melon. The chromosomal location, multiple sequence alignment, motif distribution,exon-intron structure,phyloge-ny,expression pattern and cis-acting elements distribution of MADS-box gene family members were analyzed. The results showed that 45 CmMADS-box genes were identified from the whole genome database of melon, among which there are 11 of type Ⅰ genes and 34 of type Ⅱ genes.According to phylogenetic analysis, type Ⅰ genes are mainly distributed in Mβ and Mγ subfamilies and type Ⅱ genes are distributed in 13 subfamilies. The motif distri-bution and the number of exons of type Ⅰ gene and type Ⅱ gene are different, but the difference of homotype genes is not significant. The expression of CmMADS-box gene family was performed visual analysisduring the whole physiological period.According to the prediction of cis-acting elements in the promoter region, the CmMADS-box gene may respond to a variety of environmental stresses, namely,it has functional diversity. The results of this study provide a reference for further exploring the biological functions of the MADS-box gene family in melons.
