Impacts of Tourism Activities on Different Types of Plant Community Characteristics—A Case Study of Shanxi Wutai Mountain
Plant communities play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and preserving biodiversity. This study using Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province as a case study, delves into the impact of tourism activities on different types of plant community characteristics and provides recommendations for the conservation of plant resources and the environment. The research reveals that tourist activities significantly affect both native and artificially introduced plant communities, leading to issues such as overtrampling, harvesting, and the introduction of non-native species, resulting in decreased plant survival, reduced biodiversity, and impaired ecosystem functions. To safeguard plant resources and the environment,it is crucial to enhance ecological education, raise awareness among visitors about ecological conservation, and minimize undue disturbances to plant communities.Implemen-ting stricter management policies to regulate the direct and indirect impacts of tourist activities on plants is also essential.Furthermore, promoting the integration of research and conservation, strengthening dynamic monitoring of plant communities, and basing protection measures on scientific evidence are recommended.Public participation and collaboration across diverse sectors are vital to drive efforts in plant resource protection and ecosystem resto-ration,fostering sustainable development in the tourism industry. This study furnishes empirical and theoretical foundations for the protection of plant resources and the environment, contributing to the harmonious coexistence of tourism and the natural environment. It offers valuable insights for future sustainable development initiatives.
