The SCARECROW-LIKE(SCL)proteins belong to GRAS transcription factor family.SCL proteins re-gulate expression of their downstream genes,plant growth and development of plant roots,stems,leaves,and seeds,as well as the responses to enviromental signals.Here,we introduce the functions of SCL protein on the growth and development of plant endothelium,the formation of adventitious roots and axillary meristems,the synthesis of chlorophyll,the roles of SCL protein on gibberellin signal,light signal,stress signal and participation in miRNA gene regulation.According to this review,it will help people further understand the SCL family,and provide refer-ences for the application of SCL proteins in plant growth and development,disease resistance and stress resistance.
