Effect of pH Value on Growth and Physiology of Two Wild Tea Trees
Study the influence of 4 pH values on the growth physiology of two wild tea tree in Guizhou,to understood the pH range of its adaptation to growth,to provided a theoretical basis for the further utilization of wild tea germplasm resources. Two kinds of wild tea plants S01 and S02 in Guizhou were cultured with 4 kinds of pH nutrient solution, the changes of various physiological indexes were determined. Two kinds of seedlings could grew normally at pH value 4.5~6.5,no pathological change, some leaves appeared yellowing when pH value 7.5,and S01 appeared erythema on the edge of tea leaves;the net leaf area, leaf number, root length and stem diameter of tea seedlings were the lowest when pH value 7.5,but tea seedlings still could grew and developed;under the treatment of pH value 4.5~7.5,the water content, electrical conductivity and H2O2 content of the leaves of Duyun wild lobular round tea seedlings were normal, but the production rate of O2-decreased under the treatment of pH value 7.5.Conclusion:Duyun wild lobular round tea could grew in weak alkaline environment, and the wild tea trees distributed in Qingtang town of Duyun could adapt to a wide range of soil pH value,it provided a theoretical and practical basis for the cultivation and management of tea,the protection and exploration of wild tea germplasm resources, and the breeding and popularization of new tea varieties.
