Effects of Powdery Mildew Pathogen on Physiological and Biochemical In-dexes of Different Resistance to Lage naria siceraria
In order to explore the response mechanism of bottle gourd to powdery mildew, two different resistant varieties of bottle gourd were used as materials to study the effects of powdery mildew on antioxidant enzyme ac-tivity and endogenous hormone content of bottle gourd seedlings with substrate culture. The results showed that the activities of enzymes and the contents of endogenous hormones in the leaves of bottle gourd showed a trend of first increase then decrease, and the increased amplitude of the resistant variety was larger than that of the sus-ceptible variety. After inoculation with powdery mildew bacteria, the activity of SOD,POD,CAT,PPO,PAL,β-1,3-glucanase and the content of SA for resistant variety B-8 and susceptible variety B-3 were significantly different in part of the time. After inoculation with powdery mildew, the activities of SOD,POD,PAL,β-1,3-glucanase of resistant variety B-8 were significantly higher than those of susceptible variety B-3 at each time, and the CAT activity of resistant variety B-8 was significantly higher than that of susceptible variety B-3 at 1,3 and 5 d,and the ETH content of resistant variety B-8 was significantly lower than that of susceptible variety B-3 at 3,5,7 and 9 d,and the SA content of resistant variety B-8 was significantly higher than that of susceptible variety B-3 at 1,3,5 and 7 d.In conclusion, the defensive enzyme activity and endogenous hormone content of different resistant varieties of bottle gourd were significantly affected by powdery mildew, except the content of ETH,the defensive enzyme activity and the SA content of resistant variety B-8 were significantly higher than those of susceptible variety B-3.The results of this study provided a theoretical reference for breeding of powdery mildew-resistant gourd varieties.
