Analysis of Flavonoids and Mental Ion Contents in Different Periods of Meconopsis wilsonii
The petals of Meconopsis wilsonii at bud stage, cracking stage and full extension stage were used as ma-terials,the contents of flavonoids and metal ions in the petals of Meconopsis wilsonii at different stages were deter-mined by ultraviolet spectrophotometry and flame atomic absorption spectrometry,in order to find the relationship between flavonoids, metal ions and petal coloration of Meconopsis wilsonii. The results showed that the general change rule of flavonoid content with petal development was increased in the early stage and decreased in the later stage, and there were significant differences in flavonoid content in each stages(P<0.05).The content of metal ele-ments K,Ca and Mg was the most, and the content of Cu was always maintained at the lowest level. The contents of Fe,Ca and K were positively correlated with the color development of flower and color, and the changes of the contents of Fe,Ca and K were firstly decreased and then increased. At the same time, the changes of the contents of flavonoids were similar to the changes of the contents of these three elements to a certain extent. The contents of the three elements were higher in the white stage of bud stage(B1 stage)than in other stages. With the accumulation of flavonoids to the pink purple stage(B2 stage),the contents of the three elements decreased, and it was speculat-ed that Fe,Ca,K elements combined with flavonoids to form complex. The change of Zn element is not obvious in each period,so it is speculated that Zn element is involved in the formation of flower color to some extent, but is not the main participant. The contents of flavonoids and metal ions in the petals of Meconopsis wilsonii in different periods were determined to further deepen the cognition of the flower color formation,in order to provide a theo-retical basis for the study of the flower color of Meconopsis vermosi.
