Cluster Analysis of Main Agronomic Traits and Genetic Diversity of 19 Registered Simiao Type Varieties in Guangxi
In order to clarify the degree of convergence and genetic differences among Guangxi registered simiao type varieties,19 Guangxi registered simiao varieties were selected for phenotypic identification and cluster analy-sis of 18 main agronomic traits, and 48 pairs of simple sequence repeat-SSR markers were used for genetic diversity analysis. The results showed that the Euclidean distance clustering between varieties based on agronomic trait phenotypes can be divided into 4 categories, with 12 clusters exhibiting similar agronomic trait phenotypes;three two-line varieties, two conventional rice varieties, and 14 three-line varieties were all clustered in different cate-gories,indicating that breeding methods do not affect phenotypic clustering, and there are diverse phenotypic dif-ferences in agronomic traits. The Genetic distance clustering among varieties based on SSR markers can also be divided into four categories, with obvious genetic differences and rich genetic diversity among the groups;varieties with the same maternal parent or adopting the same paternal parent are basically clustered into the same category. The comparison of the results of two clustering methods indicates that there may be a situation where genetic re-lationships are far apart and agronomic traits are similar among varieties in breeding;there may also be situations where genetic relationships are closer and agronomic traits differ significantly. The results of phenotypic iden-tification and clustering of agronomic traits,as well as the analysis of genetic diversity, can provide theoretical and technical support for the breeding, promotion and protection of Guangxi simiao type varieties.
