Advances in Plant Height Regulation of Rice(Oryza sativa L.)by Anabolism and Signal Transduction of Three Main Phytohormones
Plant height is one of the important agronomic traits of rice(Oryza sativa L.).Researches showed that semi-dwarfing is beneficial to the lodging resistance and high yield properties, and is associated with the mutation of gibberellin acids(GA)synthetic gene SD1.Therefore,it's speculated that phytohormone is a vital factor to reg-ulate plant height, and it is important to clarify the anabolic pathways and signal transduction pathways of hor-mones in plant. This study reviewed the anabolic pathway and signal transduction pathways of three major phyto-hormones(GAs,ABA and BRs)in rice and the recent progress of these hormones in regulating rice plant height, which would provide new information and clues for rice improvement.
