Study on the Selection of Ornamental Plants and Landscape Design Config-uration Strategies in the Jiangnan Region
This study focuses on the Jiangnan region as its subject, aiming to explore the selection of ornamental plants and their configuration strategies in landscape design.By analyzing the natural environmental characteristics and vegetation distribution of the Jiangnan region,a set of criteria and methods for the selection of ornamental plants adapted to the region's climate and soil conditions was developed. The research employs case studies to delve into landscape design configuration strategies, including spatial layout, principles of plant combination and matching,as well as recommendations for long-term maintenance and management,to achieve unity in the land-scape's aesthetics, ecological health, and functional diversity. This study provides a scientific approach and practi-cal strategies for the selection of ornamental plants and landscape design configuration for the Jiangnan area and other regions with similar climatic conditions. It also points out the limitations of existing research and suggests di-rections for future research, including expanding the scope of case studies, deepening research on plant manage-ment techniques, and exploring landscape design strategies to address climate change.
