Research Progress on Tomato Virus Disease Species and Main Identification Methods
Tomato virus disease is one of the most important factors affecting tomato yield and quality.In order to clarify the occurrence trend of tomato virus disease at home and abroad in recent years,the study counted the new species and regional records of tomato virus diseases were reported for the first time in the world since 2012-2022.The 22 viruses counted are described in terms of where and when they were found,their distribution,spread and symptoms.The number and species of viruses infecting tomato in China were determined,and the number of reported tomato virus disease species in China was updated from 35 to 44.A variety for identification methods of tomato virus diseases were reviewed.A comprehensive and rapid RT-PCR(PCR)method was provided for the detection of some common viruses and new types of viruses.The new viruses that may cause invasion harm to the tomato industry in China were predicted.This study provides the latest data for the occurrence,development and detection of tomato virus disease,and a provides theoretical reference for the comprehensive monitoring and con-trol of tomato virus disease.
