Genetic Diversity Analysis and Selection of Wheat Germplasm from Local and Abroad on Agronomic Traits
In order to analyze the genetic difference of wheat germplasm resources and provide abundant germ-plasm resources for wheat breeding practice, the genetic diversity of one hundred wheat germplasms from local and abroad were analyzed using the yield related agronomic traits including plant height, tiller, spike length, spikelet number, floret number per spikelet and grain number per spike. The results showed that there were great differences in the main agronomic traits of the tested wheat germplasm,of which the largest difference was found for tiller and grain number per spike. There are certain differences in agronomic traits of wheat germplasm among different regions within the country as well as domestically and internationally. The significant differences were found in plant height, tiller, spike length and spikelet number perspike among wheat germplasm from different regions in China.Correlation analysis showed that most of the tested agronomic traits have the positive correlation relationship. The principal component analysis was also conducted for the agronomic traits and found that the three agronomic traits including the number of grains per spike, the number of florets per spike and the plant height could be used as the principal trait in wheat germplasm evaluating.Based on the six agronomic traits, one hundred wheat germplasms could be divided into six groups. Finally, the study also identified some wheat germplasms with outstanding agronomic traits, for example'10EW137','Xinong979'and'Zhongyu8',were selected and can be used as excellent breeding materials for wheat improvement. The results of this study will provide the effective basis for the scientific utilization of wheat germplasm.
