Identification and Expression Analysis of PIN Gene Family in Zea mays
PIN-FORMED(PIN)protein,as an outward transport protein, plays an important role in the polar trans-port of auxin. In order to clarify the evolution mode of the maize(Zea mays L.)PIN gene family and the response mech-anism to abiotic stress, this study used bioinformatics methods to analyze the characteristics of the maize PIN gene family. The results showed that there are 14 PIN gene family members in the maize genome, which can be divided into 4 groups in the evolutionary tree.ZmPINs have diverse gene structures and relatively conservative transmem-brane domains. The results of promoter analysis showed that members of the corn PIN family have multi-factor phytohormone response elements and abiotic stress elements, indicating that ZmPINs have diversified biological activities. The analysis of digital expression profiles of different tissues shows that ZmPINs have unique regulatory effects at different stages. The RT-qPCR technique was used to detect the expression pattern of ZmPINs under abi-otic stress. The results showed that most ZmPINs were strongly induced in the shoots and their expression in the roots was inhibited. The opposite expression pattern indicates that under abiotic stress, there is a dynamic transport process of auxin between the above-ground and underground parts. This study can provide a theoretical basis for clarifying the regulation mechanism of maize PIN gene family in the process of environmental stress.
