Phenotypic Diversity Analysis of Jute Germplasm from Zhejiang Province
As one of the earliest provinces in our country to develop jute(Corchorus capsularis)planting,Zhejiang has preserved abundant local jute resources. In order to fully gain knowledge about the phenotypic genetic diversi-ty of these local resources,48 jute germplasms from Zhejiang Province were systematically investigated and ana-lyzed based on 23 yield and quality traits in a two-year field trial. The results revealed that there was great varia-tion among 48 Zhejiang jute resources. The diversity index of quality characters ranges from 0.17 to 1.12,and the coefficient of variation was 10.31%to 60.88%.The fruit shape, stem colour at late stage and seed coat colour rep-resented high values on genetic diversity. The diversity index of quantitative traits ranged from 1.56 to 2.03,and the coefficient of variation was 8.59%to 34.13%,high diversity showed in fibre fineness, fiber strength and dry bark ratio to fresh stem. The first three principal components were biomass factor, phloem fiber yield factor and fiber quality factor, which provided 74.381%information of original traits. It was divided into 3 groups by cluster analysis, among which,Group Ⅱ consist of seven resources such as Zhejingchangjia,Shuangcunhongqi and Ganyuanchang-guo showed comprehensive agronomic properties and could be developed and utilized directly or indirectly.
