Identification and Expression Analysis of PHB Gene Family in Upland Cotton
Prohitin(PHB)is a widely distributed and highly conserved protein that is closely related to growth and development of plants and biological and abiotic stress processes.PHB protein has been identified in A rabidopsis thaliana,Oryza sativa and Glycine max,but has not been systematically identified in Gossypium hirsutum. In this study,28 members of the PHB gene family were identified by bioinformatics, the phylogenetic relationship of PHB protein was confirmed by conserved motif and gene structure analysis. In addition, the promoter region predicted a variety of hormone regulation and stress-related cis-elements,and GhPHBs were found to have different expression patterns in different parts of plants and under different abiotic stresses. This study systematically analyzed the gener-al characteristics of GhPHBs in Gossypium hirsutum, and provided a theoretical basis for the study of the functional characteristics of PHB genes in Gossypium hirsutum and other plants.
