Cloning and Expression Pattern Analysis of Maize AINTEG UMENTA-LIKE 1(AIL1)Gene
To understand the role of ZmAIL1,a member of the euANT subfamily of the AP2/ERF transcription factor family,in maize growth and development, the full-length cDNA of ZmAIL1 gene was cloned using RT-PCR with maize'Xianyu335'as the experimental material.Bioinformatics analysis was conducted, and its expression pattern in different tissues and under abiotic stress conditions was examined by real-time quantitative PCR.The results showed that the cDNA length of ZmAIL1 was 1 273 bp,containing an 873 bp open reading frame and encoding 290 amino acids, with a relative molecular weight is 27.258 kD and a theoretical isoelectric point of 8.69,and was a hydrophobic protein.Phylogenetic analysis showed that it was closely related to Sorghum bicolor and other gramineous plants.RT-qPCR analysis showed that it was mainly expressed in leaves and tassels, and the expression was induced under different abiotic stress conditions. Moreover, the expression levels of ZmA IL1 were significantly up-regulated in seedling leaf tissues under salt and drought stress. These results provide a scientific basis for further exploring the function of ZmAIL1 gene.
