Determination and Correlation Analysis of B Vitamins Content in Areca triandra by UPLCMS/MS
To better understand the role of the dynamics of B vitamins in different tissues in Areca triandra, this study determined and analysed the content of B vitamins in the four development stages of endosperm and peri-carp,leaf tissue at different stages of maturity, male and female flowers and inflorescences of the A.triandra by ultra-high liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS).The results showed that nine water-soluble B vitamins(including thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, nicotinamide, pantothenic acid,pyridox-ine,biotin,folic acid and cyanocobalamin)were detected in the A.triandra.The amount of the same vitamin varies considerably in different tissues. The most abundant B vitamins in the tissues of the A.triandra are thiamine and pantothenic acid. The content of B vitamins showed different dynamics in different tissues and developmental stages. The distribution of B vitamins in A.triandra has the characteristics of tissue specificity and maturity depen-dence.Different B vitamins showed different accumulation patterns during the development of the pericarp and en-dosperm of A.triandra.In addition, correlation analysis found that thiamine was significantly positively correlated with niacin, pyridoxine was significantly positively correlated with cyanocobalanim, and riboflavin was significantly positively correlated with biotin. This study provides a reference for exploring the contents of B vitamins in differ-ent tissues of the A.triandra and the dynamic accumulation patterns of B vitamins content in fruits and leaves at different developmental stages.
