Assessment of the Impact of the Seed Industry on Agricultural Ecology
This study comprehensively assesses the impact of the seed industry on global agricultural ecosystems. The seed industry,by promoting efficient, resilient, and nutrient-rich seeds, has significantly enhanced agricultural productivity and global food security. However,it has also brought a series of negative impacts. These include the reduction of biodiversity, disruption of ecological balance, and socio-economic challenges faced by smallholders and subsistence farmers. This research highlights the issues of genetic homogenization caused by the centralization and commercialization of seed technology, discussing its potential threats to ecological diversity and farmers'livelihoods. In response to these challenges, the importance of continuous scientific research, enhanced regulatory oversight, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices are emphasized, aiming to achieve healthy development of the seed industry and protection of the ecological environment.
