Assessment of the Impact of Biological Breeding Innovation on Rural Re-gional Economic Development
As the world faces the dual challenges of food security and environmental sustainability, biobreeding technology,as an integral part of modern agricultural science, plays a significant role in promoting rural regional e-conomic development. This study, based on the case of Syngenta Group China, assesses the economic impacts of biobreeding innovations in reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides, and enhancing crop yield and quality. The research finds that the introduction of advanced biobreeding technologies not only significantly improves crop yield and quality but also successfully reduces reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, thereby promoting green and sustainable agricultural development. However, there are obstacles in the technology dissemination pro-cess,such as technical complexity, regulatory constraints, and market acceptance. In light of this, this study pro-poses policy recommendations including strengthening education and training, clarifying regulatory frameworks, promoting the integration of science and industry, and raising public awareness to support the innovation and ap-plication of biobreeding technologies, further advancing rural regional economic development.
