To determine the optimum technological conditions for flash extraction of total Astragalus saponins.Taking astragaloside as standard, the content of total saponins of Astragalus was determined by vanillin-glacial acetic acid colorimetry. The effects of ethanol concentration, ratio of material to liquid, voltage and extraction times on the yield of total Astragalus saponins were investigated by orthogonal experiment, and the optimal condi-tions were selected to analyze the effect of maximum influence conditions on the extraction rate of total A stragalus saponins by response surface method.Based on the regression analysis of the response surface test results, the re-gression model of response value and ethanol concentration, ratio of material to liquid and extraction times as in-dependent variables was established, and the model equation was verified. The results show that the regression model is significant and has high fitting accuracy;through ridge analysis, the best technological conditions of flash extraction of total Astragalus saponins were obtained as follows:ethanol concentration 70%,extraction times 3 times, ratio of material to liquid 1∶18,voltage 130 V.The yield of total astragalosides extracted by this process is 7.648 4%,which is 0.056 5%different from the predicted value, the relative error is small,0.007 4%,the response estimated value is in good agreement with the actual value, and the optimization process is reliable,to provide sci-entific basis for the efficient extraction and utilization of the active components of Astragalus membranaceus.
