Application of High-power IP Measurement in Uranium Exploration in Hetaoba Area
The Hetaoba area, which is located in Duolun Count of Xilin Gol League,Inner Mongolia,is one of the few volcanic uranium deposits discovered recently in the north of China.Great breakthroughs have been made in uranium prospecting here, but most of the ore bodies are buried below 500 meters. In order to identify the ore control structure, find the hidden uranium ore body, and expand the prospecting results, four patches of induced polarization(IP)anomaly are delineated by conducting high power IP mid-step scanning, and the main structural direction is confirmed nearly south to north.Based on the abnormal sec-tion characteristics of IP sounding and the existing geological and geophysical data in this ar-ea,the distribution characteristics of fault structure are roughly identified. It is believed that the Hetaoba area has good uranium mineralization conditions, and may contain many hidden uranium deposits(mineralization and anomalies)in the deep part.Drill validation has identi-fied uranium industrial orebodies and structural fracture zones in deep boreholes, confirming that high-power IP surveys are effective in finding hidden structures, which can provide a good reference for similar mineral exploration.
