Application of 3D Visualization Technique of High Density Electrical Method in Karst Exploration of Engineering Site
As a common adverse geological effect affecting engineering construction,a Karst structure brings about many special adverse building conditions and stability problems of en-gineering foundation in some large and important engineering projects.Karst survey thus should be carried out when Karst exists in or near the proposed project site which endangers its project safety. In order to identify the buried depth and Karst development of a project site in Xianning,a dense two-dimensional high-density electrical survey line was deployed to detect the buried depth and Karst development position of the project site based on the two-dimensional section interpretation and drilling data analysis. On this basis, the original data of the collected two-dimensional line were combined in three dimensions, and the results of vertical slices at different positions, plane slices at different depths, elevation maps of bed-rock surface, and three-dimensional rendering of Karst development areas were comprehen-sively analyzed through three-dimensional inversion and three-dimensional visualization pro-cessing.The possible Karst development areas were delineated and their development laws were studied. The results show that by laying dense and high-density electrical survey lines and using 3D visualization technology, the buried depth and relief characteristics of bedrock, the dissolution development area of bedrock surface and the spatial distribution of deep Karst can be more accurately and intuitively displayed in the Karst detection of engineering sites, which provides more comprehensive geological results for the foundation and foundation de-sign and construction of proposed buildings.
