Application of High-density Electrical Method and Microtremor Survey in the Investigation of the Overmined Area in Western Hainan Island
The mining pits are backfilled to cover up the illegal behavior in ultra-deep over-mining areas, which not only causes damage to state-owned mineral resources, but also cau-ses serious damage to the natural environment. As an important means to detect the over-ex-ploitation scale of mines, geophysical prospecting is faced with such unfavorable factors as complex geological conditions and background interference.Single geophysical prospecting methods involve multiple indefinite detection solutions, making it difficult to achieve fine de-tection of over-exploitation backfill areas. In this study, the high-density electrical method was first used to accurately identify the distribution of the backfill area, and then the micro-tremor survey was used to comprehensively detect the backfill depth.By comparing the drill-ing data, the results show that the accuracy of the microtremor survey on the lithological in-terface ranges between 2.30%~3.22%.The reinterpretation of the high-density electrical method data in conjunction with the microtremor survey show that the results are within 0.3 m of the depth of the interface at the base of the backfill as indicated by the boreholes, indicating that the use of comprehensive geophysical methods can effectively identify and ac-curately reveal the scale of the backfill area. This study provides a strong scientific basis and assistance for identifying overmining violations in the future.
