Currently,China has entered a period of economic transformation,resource based cities and mining areas,due to their single industry and remote geographical location,coupled with the lack of amenities,have gradually led to serious the brain drain,which has impacted and affected the high-quality development level of resource based cities.This article adopts the QCA method(qualitative comparative analysis method)from the perspective of comfort theory,taking the Bayan Obo Mining Area of Baotou City as an example,starting from four factors of environmental comfort,social comfort,life comfort,and policy comfort,to study and analyze the influencing factors and combination paths of talent inflow and outflow in the mining area,and propose targeted improvement suggestions.This study mainly answered three questions.Firstly,what kind of comfort factors will affect the inflow of talents in the mining areas?Secondly,What kind of comfort factors will affect talent outflow?Thirdly,based on the research results,what measures can be taken to change the current situation of talent loss in mining areas?Through research,it has been found that four factors form three paths that affect the inflow of talents in mining areas and three paths that affect the outflow of talents.Environmental comfort,living comfort,and policy comfort are all core influencing factors that affect talent in-flows and outflows,while social comfort is an auxiliary factor that affects talent inflows and outflows.The improvement of com-fort is conducive to strengthening the attraction of talents in the region and reducing talent loss to a certain extent.
