The digital economy is a new driving force for development and an important pillar and core engine of China's eco-nomic development.Taking the level of digital economy development and the level of coupling and coordination of manufactur-ing industry chain and innovation chain as the object,based on the data of 30 provinces and cities(autonomous regions and mu-nicipalities directly under the central government)in the country from 2013 to 2021,we respectively constructed the index system of the level of development of the digital economy,the index system of the manufacturing industry chain and the innovation chain,and used the comprehensive level measurement model,coupling and coordination model,and the panel threshold model to empirically analyze the impact of the digital economy on the impact of digital economy on the coupling development of manufac-turing innovation chain and industry chain.The results show that:(1)from 2013 to 2021,the coupling and coordination level of China's manufacturing industry chain and innovation chain as a whole shows an upward trend,in which there is a development characteristic of"west<central<east";(2)the digital economy has a significant positive impact on the coupling development of the manufacturing industry chain and the innovation chain;(3)the impact of digital economy on the coupling development of manufacturing industry chain and innovation chain is non-linear.
