Lightweight Design of Grain Silos Based on Finite Element Analysis
Taking a grain silo as the research object, lightweight design is carried out to address the problem of structural redundancy in the design of grain silos.Firstly, three parts of the grain silo, the wall, the bottom and the support structure under the silo, are statically analyzed.According to the results of static analysis, there is still a large optimization potential for the silo wall, the silo bottom and the support structure under the silo. Therefore, with mass reduction as the objective and a maximum displacement of 10 mm as a constraint, the dimensional pa-rameters of the grain silo are improved. After adjustment of its dimensions and re-analysis,the comparative analysis results show that the mass is reduced by 532.384 kg,with a mass reduction ratio of 14.18%,and the optimization effect is significant, which provides some reference ideas for lightweighting of similar grain silos.
