Experimental Study of Evaporation Characteristics of Pre-concentrated High-salinity Desulfurization Wastewater
This paper investigated the evaporation characteristics of pre-concentrated high-salinity desulfurization wastewater droplets.Via single droplet evaporation experiments, similarities and dif-ferences in droplet evaporation behaviour between high-salinity wastewater and normal wastewater were compared.Spray evaporation experiments were carried out to validate its performance. The results show there were three stages of droplet evaporation:shrinkage, expansion, and re-shrinkage.For high-salinity desulfurization wastewater, its evaporation rate was slower, but its droplet lifetime was shorter due to the smaller water content. The expansion of droplets was related to the growth pattern of internal bubbles.Droplets of high-salinity wastewater exhibited the simultaneous growth of multiple bubbles, while ordinary wastewater exhibited the rapid growth of an isolated bubble.Increasing the ambient temperature would accelerate droplet evaporation, but the evaporation prod-ucts may decompose under high temperature. In the pilot test, water content in the evaporation product from the high-salinity wastewater was lower than that of normal wastewater.
