Experimental Study on Flow Condensation Characteristics in Plate Heat Exchanger Under Ocean Sloshing Conditions
Plate heat exchangers is an important component of marine equipment such as floating ocean thermal energy generation platform. To elucidate the role of sloshing on the flow condensation of plate heat exchanger,a three-degree-of-freedom motion platform is used to simulate the ocean sloshing conditions, and a visually experimental system for flow condensation in the plate heat exchanger is constructed. The flow condensation characteristics of plate heat exchangers under vertical, inclined, and swing postures are studied, with a focus on the effect of inclined and swing conditions on the flow-condensation heat transfer of a plate heat exchanger. The results indicate that, compared to the vertical posture, the condensation performance of the plate heat exchanger is weaker under vertical negative inclination and horizontal positive inclination postures, while both the vertical positive inclination and horizontal negative inclination postures can improve the condensation performance. Moreover,a higher swing amplitude can improve the uniformity of the working fluid within condenser, thereby enhancing the condensation performance of the plate heat exchanger. However, the condensation heat transfer performance is not sensitive to the swing frequency.
