Effect of Wood Flour Content on Thermo and Rheological Properties of PE-HD/Wood Composites
PE-HD/wood flour composites were prepared by mini extrusion equipment with recycled PE-HD as a plastic matrix and wood flour as a filler. The effects of highly filled wood flour content on the thermo and rheological properties of PE-HD/wood flour composites were studied. The results show that the increase of the wood flour content in the composites can lower the melting peak temperature of the composite and enhance the crystallization peak temperature. The composite decomposition can be divided in two stages. The increase of wood flour content reduce PE-HD decomposition speed and the total decomposition amount of the composite. The increase of wood flour content in the composites can increase the apparent viscosity of the composite. With the increase of wood flour content, the composite pseudoplastic property and dependence on shear enhance, which can lower the apparent viscosity of the material by increasing shear rate.
