Preparation and Properties of Reinforced and Toughened Antistatic Nylon 612 Materials
Reinforced and toughened antistatic nylon (PA) 612 material was prepared through melt-blending. The effects of antistatic agent types and contents on the antistatic performances of the material were discussed, the influences of glass fiber (GF) and toughening agent EPDM-g-MAH contents on the mechanical properties of the material were studied. The antistatic performances test results show that the percolation thresholds of graphene and carbon nanotube in the aspect of surface resistance are significantly smaller than that of conductive carbon black, that is,in PA612 system, graphene and carbon nanotube are superior to conductive car-bon black as antistatic agent. Under higher contents, the surface resistance of the material filled with carbon nanotube is lower by an order of magnitude than that of the material filled with graphene, but the cost of carbon nanotube is higher. The mechanical properties test results show that GF can greatly improve the tensile and bending strength of the material, while the toughening agent can signifi-cantly improve the impact properties, when the mass fraction of the toughening agent is no more than 10%,the decrease extents of the tensile and bending strength are lower. When the mass fraction of the antistatic agent graphene,GF and toughening agent is 3%, 40% and 10% respectively, the prepared PA612 material has better comprehensive performances, the tensile strength is 120 MPa, the bending strength is 210 MPa,the notched impact strength at room temperature and -45℃ is 10,9.6 kJ/m2 respectively, the surface resistance is 1×1011 Ω,which meets the antistatic requirements in the process of storage, transportation and use for PA612.
