Preparation and performance of heat-resistant PA5T/55
The melting temperature and decomposition temperature of semi-aromatic poly(pentamethylene terephthalamide)(PA5T)are close, resulting in its easy decomposition during processing.Based on the above background, the aliphatic poly(glutaryl-pentanediamine)(PA55)segment was introduced into the homopolymer to improves its processability.PA5T/55 with different PA55 segment contents were prepared using glutaric acid, terephthalic acid, and pentanediamine as raw materials through salt formation, pre polymerization, and solid-phase condensation method. The structure of the copolymer was confirmed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.Based on these, the melting temperature, thermal decomposition temperature, crystallization performance, and physical and mechanical properties were tested and characterized by using differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analyzer,X-ray diffractometer, and universal testing machine. The research results show that the crystallinity and melting temperature of PA5T/55 show a downward trend with the increase of PA55 segment content. When the mole traction of 55 segments in the dibasic acid copolymer is 50%,its melting temperature is 311.40℃,the temperature for thermal degradation of 5%is 426.15℃,the maximum thermal degradation rate temperature is 474.80℃,the temperature for thermal degradation of 95%is 498.49℃,the tensile strength is 67.9 MPa,and the comprehensive performance is excellent.PA5T/55 copolymer has good heat resistance and a relatively wide processing window, and has great application pros-pects in fields such as electronics,LED display lighting and automobiles.
