Research progress of surface-patterned proton-exchange membrane
The types and characteristics of fuel cells were introduced,especially the technical advantages,application fields,and main technical obstacles faced by proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFC)in commercialization.The structure of membrane electrode assembly and the role of proton exchange membrane(PEM)in it were briefly described.It is pointed out that surface patterning of PEM is an important method to improve the comprehensive performance of fuel cells under high temperature and low humidity conditions.The basic strategies for surface patterning of PEM in recent years were summarized,including template casting method,template imprinting method,irradiation modification method,surface printing and micro phase separation method,along with their respective advantages and disadvantages.The existing problems and challenges of PEM surface patterning were discussed,and the future development directions were prospected.
