Preparation and performance of hydrophobic CY184/E-PDMS epoxy resin composite
Despite epoxy resin excellent electrical and mechanical properties, such as leak-proof and rupture resistance,it is difficult to be widely used in outdoor insulation because of its poor hydrophobicity. In order to solve the hydrophobic problem of epoxy resin, hydroxyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane(HPDMS)was modified by γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APTES)and diglycidyl hexahydrophthalate(CY184).A hydrophobic-modifying agent E-PDMS was synthesized, and CY184/E-PDMS compos-ite was prepared. The results show that E-PDMS grafted with epoxy group has good compatibility with CY184 epoxy resin. When the mass fraction of E-PDMS reaches 10%,the hydrophobic angle of the composites can be stabilized at 105°,the volume resistivity increases to 1.36×1014 Ω·m,the dielectric constant decreases to 3.55 at 1 000 Hz,the glass transition temperature and tensile strength increase to 117℃ and 59.4 Mpa,respectively. After E-PDMS modification, the hydrophobic, insulating, mechanical and thermal stability properties of epoxy resin are obviously improved, which broadens the application field of epoxy resin in the field of insulators.
