Preparation and properties of pentagonal flexible aramid paper honeycomb
In order to meet the requirements of large curvature parts for the flexibility of honeycomb materials,enrich the types of domestic aramid paper honeycomb,and further expand the honeycomb global markets,a new flexible aramid paper honey-comb ACCH-2I-2.75-48D with a pentagonal structure(the cell size is 2.75 mm,density is 48 kg/m3)was developed on the basis of the traditional hexagonal aramid paper honeycomb manufacturing process.The physical properties,mechanical properties,Poisson's ratio and flame retardant properties of three kinds of flexible honeycombs prepared from domestic aramid paper were tested.The mechanical properties of pentagonal flexible aramid paper honeycomb were compared with the requirements of the flexible aramid paper honeycomb of european composites(EC),the hexagonal aramid paper honeycomb(ACCH-2I-2.75-48)and over-expanded aramid paper honeycomb[ACCH-2I-2.75-48(OX)]of the same specification.The results show that the pentagonal flexible honey-comb has excellent properties,which has regular cell size,the stable physical properties and no visible defects.The compressive strength,shear strength and shear modulus can meet the requirements of EC flexible honeycomb,and the mechanical properties are stable between batches.The honeycomb also has good flexibility in both longitudinal and transverse and excellent flame retardant properties.The results show that the manufacturing process of pentagonal flexible aramid paper honeycomb is relatively complete,the pentagonal flexible honeycomb has excellent and stable comprehensive properties,which meets the basic requirements as the core material of sandwich structure material.
