Design of injection mould with double-head rotating demoulding mechanism for a vehicle battery assembly cover
Considering the need for automated injection molding of a vehicle battery assembly cover plastic part made from glass fiber modified polyether ether ketone,in response to the problem of difficult molding of local features in the plastic part,a injection mould with double-head rotating demoulding mechanism was designed.According to the potential difficulty in filling the mould cavity caused by the poor fluidity of the modified materials used in the mould,a hot gate was used to fill the mould cavity directly. In response to the problem of demoulding difficulties after forming the outer surface of the plastic part, five side core pulling slider mechanisms were designed for the molding and demoulding of local features of the outer surface of the plastic part.Among them, two side core pulling slider mechanisms were designed as secondary core pulling slider mechanisms, effectively avoid-ing demoulding deformation and damage to local features of the plastic part during side core pulling. The mechanism design was difficult to perform due to the interference in the design of the driving mechanism for the circular arc core of the plastic part, which requires rotary core pulling on both sides of the circular arc surface,in response to above problems,a single hydraulic cylinder driven double-head rotating core pulling mechanism was designed. In the mechanism, one hydraulic cylinder was used to drive the synchronous core pulling of two circular arc sliders on both sides of the circular arc surface of the plastic part through the redirection power transmission of two transmission sliders, avoiding the problem of motion interference in the driving mechanism. The designed mould was a two plate hot runner mould with a single opening, which could enable the automated injection molding of the plastic part to proceed smoothly.
