The Pearl River Delta Regional Economic Security and Industrial Restructuring
With the rapid development of world economic integration, the comparative advantage, cost advantage, and competitive market advantage that the Pearl River Delta has been depending on have gradually been diminished. On the one hand, constraints on regional economic growth, including energy, resources, environment, and social harmony, now exert full restriction. On the other hand, the regional economic growth model based on the existing industrial structure has reached the static limit. In such context, industrial restructuring and upgrading become increasingly urgent. Through the analysis of the challenges and opportunities of the Pearl River Delta's industrial structure and economic security, this article illustrates the significance of industrial restructuring and upgrading to the regional economic security, and puts forward constructive countermeasures and suggestions thereof.
