Strategic Research on the Promotion of Chinese Traditional Family Virtues
Based on a survey conducted in the Pearl River Delta, this essay summarizes the positiveand negative performances of family virtues in the relatively developed areas in this region, introduces the practices to uphold traditional family virtues in Shenzhen and Huizhou cities, and offers some suggestions to the promotion of civilized family and family education. The suggestions are as follows： first, the fundamental function of family units to the construction of social harmony demands full emphasis; second, family mechanism with modem public service and management functions requires active construction; third, proper studies should be done in exploring the family moral institution that contribute to a harmonious socialist society; fourth, modem collective activities to construct civilized family should be launched; fifth, the joint benefits of moral education within the family, at the school and in the community should be upgraded; and finally, the construction of civilized family should be realized by improving the living standard and properly addressing family problems.
