Investigation Report on the Subjective Well-being of the Elderly in the Poor County and Its Influence Factors
This paper tries to explore the factors that influence the subjective well-being of the elderly people in impoverished mountainous areas by analyzing the living condition and subjective well-being of the elderly living in Fengshun County, a provincial poverty county. About 210 elderly persons were chosen as samples of the study. The mean index of well-being for them is 10.52± 1.891 (X± SD), which is relatively higher when compared to the result of research from the relevant investigation by Yao Chunsheng in 1995. Statistical analysis shows that factors such as marital status, number of children, living condition, health condition, level of education, etc., influence the subjective well-being of the elderly markedly while age and sex do not.
