Problematic ISO 9000: A Study on the Inherent Features of Written Language
ISO 9000 quality management system utilizes written language as its operating carrier. Its slogan "write what you do and do what you write", however, causes three-fold misconceptions in that we can write whatever we've done, that what we write is exactly correspondent with what we do, and that we share equal competency in written language. In fact, "what we do" refers to "action", while "what we write" is in the form of written language. They belong to two different categories. We simply cannot turn "what we do" into "what we write", nor can we do exactly the same as "what we write". Written language in workplace does not exist in an environment free of social elements, and therefore must at least include some contents related to interpersonal relationships.
