Abstract
In the 1930s,scientific essays emerged as a unique literary genre where science and literature permeated each other. It was a product of the convergence of scientification, popularization and revolution, representing an innovative attempt by left-wing intellectuals in urban cultural struggles.Firstly,in terms of creative motivation, scientific essays reflected a shift in the subjective consciousness of left-wing intellectuals, transitioning from"popularizing"to"popularization".Secondly,in terms of writing style, scientific essays incorporated both satirical humor and dialectical materialist analysis, deepening the content and means of left-wing works. Finally,in terms of value orientation, scientific essays shifted their focus from everyday trivialities to the overall society, cleverly"metaphorizing"personal struggles for survival into grand social revolutions. In summary, scientific essays successfully combined the themes of science and revolution, becoming a unique epitome within the discourse system of the New Democratic Revolution.
