From 1919 to 1923,several influential youth movements broke out in Anhui,including the May Fourth Movement,the June Second Movement and the opposition movement against bribery of the third provincial council.As a major force of the youth movement,a section of the Anhui youth gradually realized the scientificity of Marxism and the power of the proletarian,which shifted their position from reform to revolution.As the goal of the movement developed from fighting for the rights of students to opposing the authorities,some of the youth began to join political parties to seek political power and further transformed their identity on the basis of the change in ideology.It is important to note that the above links are not a single linear process,nor is it the only path for the personal development of the youth of Anhui.However,an analysis of the internal logic of this development path can retrace the trajectory of a generation of revolutionary youth of Anhui and reflect the history of the spread of Marxism and the development of the Communist Party of China in Anhui.
