The Value Orientation of Elderly Education Curriculum:a Comparative Perspective between the Elderly School in Hong Kong and Chengdu
As an intermediary and carrier of elderly education,curriculum is not only the essential basis for carrying out practical activities in elderly education,but also the core field for the development of the connotation.Taking the Elder Academy in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Open University for the Elderly in Chengdu as examples,a comparative analysis was conducted on the courses offered between 2021 and 2023,and it was found that there is a significant difference in the curriculum value orientation between the two.Based on this,we re-examined the future value orientation of elderly education curriculum in China,including embedding the concept of intergenerational integration and exerting social service functions;paying attention to the psychological characteristics of the elderly and scientifically designing the curriculum system;advocating the cross-border collaborative participation and sharing diverse social resources;implementing credit mutual recognition and transferring,and providing a ladder for academic advancement;strengthening the construction of teaching staff level and highlighting the unique culture of the curriculum.
