On the Development Status and Strategy of Teochew Opera in Thailand in the Digital Age
Teochew opera is one of the outstanding traditional operas in China,which is a cultural link between the Teochewnese at home and abroad.Thailand,known as the"second hometown of Teochew opera",is the center of overseas dissemination of Teochew opera.However,due to the aging content of the repertoire and the single transmission channel,the development of contemporary Teochew opera in Thailand is faced with the dilemma of decreasing audience,especially the gradual alienation of the young audience.In the digital age,Teochew opera should use the cloud technology to promote the cooperation and sharing of resources and talents of Teochew opera between China and Thailand,expand the audience of young people with the help of digital technology so that more Thai audiences can enjoy the beauty of traditional opera art,and the development of contemporary Teochew opera in Thailand shall be promoted.
