Research on the Innovative Practice of Artificial Intelligence Technology Empowering College English Teaching in Open Education
With the advent of 5G and ongoing advancements in Artificial Intelligence(AI),the significance of AI-enabled education is increasingly recognized.This study involved 43 non-English major undergraduates at Handan Open University during the spring semester of 2022.Utilizing the OPEN mode—which encompasses Oral English,Practice,Evaluation,and Network—innovative teaching practices were implemented using AI technology,mobile devices,and public English courses on the OUC Learning Network platform.The study employed various scaffolding techniques to design integrated flexible learning activities.A task table was developed following the ARCS motivation model,and an assessment scale was crafted based on the SERI model of comprehensive online learning evaluation.After conducting a one-year teaching intervention,data from pre-tests,post-tests,surveys,and interviews were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 software.Results indicated that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group in test scores.
