Peer assessment, recognized as a highly effective evaluative mechanism, has long constituted a central focus of academic inquiry. This study draws upon 686 peer assessment-specific journal articles published in the CNKI database between 1999 and 2023,employing bibliometric analysis to present a comprehensive overview of the trajectory and trends in domestic research. The investigation spans several key dimensions, including temporal publication trends, core research themes, leading research institutions, and preeminent publishing venues. The results reveal that:(1)Peer assessment research can be segmented into three distinct developmental phases:the nascent period(1999-2007),the accelerated growth period(2008-2017),and the consolidation and maturity period(2018-2023);(2)Research in peer assessment has predominantly centered on the disciplines of linguistics and education, with evolving focal points shaped by technological advancements;(3)The distribution of authors remains largely diffuse, though small-scale collaborative networks have begun to form. The article concludes by proposing potential avenues for future research.
