Influence of Co-existing Ions on the Adsorping of Yttrium Ions by Serratia Marcescens
The influence of co-existing of aluminum, iron, zinc and magnesium ions on the adsorption of yttrium ions by Serratia marcescens was studied in the study. The results showed that aluminum ions seriously inhibited the adsorption of yttrium, while the inhibited of iron, zinc and magnesium ions on the adsorption of yttrium are slightly weak. The inhibited order of the multiple ions coexisted as follows:zinc+iron+aluminum>aluminum+iron>zinc+iron>zinc+aluminum. The co-existing of these ions all has inhibition on the adsorption of yttrium should due to there are competing adsorption of the co-existing ions with yttrium on the surface of Serratia marcescens, and the different inhibition degree should because the adsorption groups of Serratia marcescens for the co-existing ions.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed that the carboxyl, amino and hydroxyl groups on the surface of Serratia marcescens are the mainly active groups for adsorption iron, zinc and aluminum ions, while carboxyl and hydroxyl groups mainly responsible for the adsorption of magnesium ions.
