Study on Antioxidant Activity of Pericarpium Citrus Reticulata Essential Oil and Its Application
In this study, the essential oil(EO)of Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae(PCR,aged for 5 years)was extracted by supercritical CO2 extraction. The components of EO were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),and the antioxidant capacity of essential oil was evaluated by in vitro antioxidant assay.A new kind of nanoemulsion for essential oil was prepared by chitosan embedding method. The results showed that about 20 volatile components identified in the essential oil of PCR,and the main component was limonene(58.41%).The results of antioxidant activity in vitro showed that essential oil of PCR had good antioxidant ability, which had scavenging abilities on ABTS free radical(IC 50=5.75 mg/mL)and DPPH free radical(IC50=44.54 mg/mL),respectively.The scanning electron microscope(SEM)result showed that the nanoemulsion was spherical, and had good uniformity and stability. In practical application, the essential oil nanoemulsion can effectively delay the oxidation Browning of apple and achieve the effect of preservation. The results indicated that the emulsion had broad prospects in the development and utilization of natural plant food preservatives.
