Study on Preparation and Catalytic Performance of Solid Phosphoric Acid from Columnar Activated Carbon
In order to reduce the potential safety hazard of the experimental teaching of esterification reaction and strengthen the students'awareness of green environmental protection, solid acid can be used instead of strong corrosive concentrated sulfuric acid to catalyze the synthesis of ethyl acetate. In the experiment, the solid phosphoric acid from columnar activated carbon was prepared by direct impregnation and secondary calcination. The preparation conditions were optimized taking the phosphoric acid loading as the evaluation index. The solid phosphoric acid prepared by secondary calcination was used to catalyze the synthesis of ethyl acetate and the reaction conditions were optimized. The results showed that the catalyst with the maximum phosphoric acid loading was obtained when the calcination temperature was 260 ℃,the impregnation time was 25 h and the calcination time was 4 h.According to SEM analysis, the structure of the catalyst prepared by secondary calcination was more fluffy and more beneficial to the esterification reaction.Under the optimal reaction conditions, the yield of ethyl acetate could reach 80.4%,and retain 41.7%after repeating 3 times. The students were conducted to design and prepare the solid phosphoric acid catalysts with high catalytic activity, which could not only firmly establish the concept of safety first, attaching equal importance to results and environmental protection in the minds of students, but also provide a meaningful reference for the green improvement of esterification reaction.
